Processing of Personal Data
Personal data is information that can be linked to an identifiable individual. Kommuneforlaget (KF) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, and uses only personal data that is relevant and necessary to fulfill our obligations and provide good service to our contacts, as well as personal data that we are required to collect by law, in accordance with, among other things, the Accounting Act.
The processing of personal data—such as collection, recording, storage, and disclosure—is subject to specific rules. KF is the data controller, and all personal data is processed in accordance with the Personal Data Act and other privacy regulations. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority oversees compliance with these regulations.
KF’s processing of personal data primarily involves contact information, order and payment information, as well as correspondence and any other information relevant to the purpose of the processing.
What do we use personal information for?
KF processes personal data in the following cases:
- Provision of digital solutions. Certain solutions will have their own privacy statements. When customers use our solutions, the customer is the data controller for your personal information, and KF acts as the data processor for the customers who use the digital solutions. The customers will provide you with information about the processing of your personal information.
- Contact with customers, including municipalities. This includes the processing of contact information, purchase history, contact and support history, etc. The purpose of the processing is to respond to customer inquiries, process orders and payments, ship products, and provide services. We also send information and surveys to customers. Processing is carried out on the basis of a contract, legitimate interest, or consent.
- Contact with authors, potential authors, book-related suppliers, and other partners. This involves the processing of contact information, and the purpose of the processing is to follow up, maintain contact, and fulfill agreements and obligations. The processing of personal data is based on a contract or legitimate interest.
Sharing of Personal Information
KF does not disclose your personal information to third parties unless there is a legal basis for such disclosure. Examples of such a basis typically include an agreement with you or a legal requirement that obligates us to share the information.

Correction and Deletion of Information
KF does not retain personal data for longer than is necessary to fulfill the purpose of the processing. Longer retention may be necessary to comply with any legal obligations, such as those under accounting laws.
It is important that the information we have stored is accurate and up to date. We therefore encourage you to contact us if you notice any errors. You can also contact us if you would like to access the personal information we have stored about you, or if you would like to be removed from our systems.
